Entering into the dangerous realm of blogging...

I have never understood the allure of blogging.  When I have checked out some blogs in the past, I have simply replied "What is the point?" and moved onto other things.  However, there have been times when I have read something and it made me pause and consider.

The pause sometimes results in the affirmation of my current thinking and it sometimes results in reconsidering the many thoughts bouncing inside my brain box.

I simply love that pause.

There are many times during the day when I find my mind going to a place that it really has no place going (and I don't mean in a sick way).  I guess that is a by-product of reading and studying critical theory.  Thus is the cross that I bear...

With that said, there will be things on this blog that will infuriate some and appease others, cause some to think and others to pound their fist on the table, and even some to change their thinking and others that simply think I am a mad nutcase and never return to this again.  In actuality, none of that is of my concern.

People are multi-layered.  We are made up of so many different experiences over so many years that to peel back the layers of the proverbial onion reveals that all the peeling in the world will only result in a pile of smelly onion peels.  Some peels are religious, some are spiritual, some are racial, some are patriotic.  Some deal with our lives as children and others deal with our chosen professional life.  Some are our singular views and others are a result of our relationship with friends, family, significant others, or spouses (yes, they are significant too).

I don't know where it all leads, but perhaps peeling back the layer and surveying it is enough to prompt that wonderful and enigmatic pause.

If you don't pause, so be it.  Move on, click that mouse, move to the next blog.  If it makes you pause even for a moment, come back again.

Agree or disagree; that doesn't matter to me.

I am  just looking for the pause.
